The drought in Germany is killing our forests

28.07.2020 Author: Isolde Moussot Original language: de Translator: Isolde Moussot

The drought of the last two years has caused severe damage to forests. Last year alone, 32 million cubic metres of damaged wood were felled, which is 6 times as much as in 2017. During the entire period of regulated forest management, i.e. for 200 years, there has been no forest damage on such

a large scale.

Flat-rooted coniferous trees are particularly affected.
