Belgium and the Netherlands have also been hit by severe flooding.
In Belgium, the Wallonia region is particularly affected.
In Verviers, several bodies were found after heavy flooding. Ropes were strung along the houses to help evacuate the inhabitants.
The town Liège was also badly affected. At least 9 people were killed in Belgium. Residents report that they have never experienced floods like this before.
In the Netherlands, the city of Mastricht and Valkenburg were particularly affected.
