Volcanic eruption in the north of the island Sumatra in Indonesia
The volcano Sinabung has today ejected an ash cloud of more than 7 km height. Already on Saturday there was an eruption with an ash cloud of 4 km height. In June 2019 the last eruption of the 2460 m high volcano took place. In 2010 it erupted for the first time in 400 years.

8.1.2020 Volcanic activity in Alaska
The 2856 m high ice-covered volcano in Alaska ejected a large ash cloud on 8.1.2020 at 5 am local time. After the activity had initially decreased somewhat, another even larger ash cloud was ejected.
